Illuminated Ornaments

I am really liking Stampin’ Up’s new illuminate stamp pad. I had a lot of fun playing with it, and came up with this card:

I embossed with background with the Fancy Fan embossing folder, then I sponged it with the the illuminate ink pad…which made the background shimmer. Then I took the Snowflake Party Wheel, inked with the illuminate pad and rolled it onto another piece of Very Vanilla cardstock (used just my fingers to roll since I wanted a whimsical look…and it didn’t have to be perfect since it was in the background). The ornaments were stamped with versa mark and embossed with gold embossing powder. I made 3 of the large ornaments and glued them together for a 3-d effect. I also took some of the white baker’s twine and embossed it as well with the gold embossing powder (although it doesn’t look like gold once I did it). ¬†Then I embossed very thin strips of paper with the gold embossing powder and created little bows on top of the ornaments. A very elegant and shimmery card…I need to play with it some more to see. I heard the illuminate pad works well with the dark colors as well…We’ll have to see :)
