Black and White Cards…

I decided to make some black and white cards…

This one is made using the Fresh Vintage stamp set that is free during Stampin’ Up’s Sale-A-Bration promo:

This card came together so quickly. I just stamped all the images in black and punched them out with the 1″ square punch and mounted them with dimensionals on black cardstock punched with the postage stamp punch. In a matter of minutes, you got yourself a nice handmade card.

Of course, I wanted to step it up a I made another black and white card:

This card is made using the flower image from the Mixed Bunch stamp set which is available in the current mini catalog. The butterfly image & sentiment are from the creative elements stamp set. All the images were stamped with versamark and black or white craft ink and then clear embossed. I decided to just add a “pop” of color adding in a flower center stamped in Melon Mambo. The flower image was stamped with versamark & black ink then embossed with clear embossing powder. Then, it was punched it out using the coordinating punch. Then I punched an additional blossom in black cardstock. I cut each individual black petal off and added behind each of the stamped petals. I did this again for the bottom flower layer. With the top blossom, I went back and followed the lines and trimmed around the center flower (close to the center without cutting it apart) so the little petals can curled up for more dimension. I selected one of the center images and it was stamped with Melon Mambo and embossed and punched with the itty bitty flower punch. I didn’t use the coordinating circle punch because I wanted more of the center flower to show. The butterfly was stamped in black on white, and white on black then layered. Both images were also embossed with clear embossing powder.

Love this card. I did a much simplier version because I lacked some supplies and lack patience. TFS.
